My husband is the master griller in our house. About a year ago we bought a few cedar planks from the grocery store to grill our salmon on and boy did it make a difference. The fish comes out incredibly tender and moist. And then it also picks up the smoky flavors from the grill and the woodsy flavors from the cedar. Now it’s the only way we grill our salmon and we bought the cedar planks in bulk on Amazon since you can only use each plank one time.
First, soak the plank(s) in water for 1 hour. Then, lightly brush the fish on both sides with olive oil and place fish skin side down on the plank. Put freshly cracked pepper, salt, rosemary (optional), and sliced lemon on the fish. Get your grill to about 550 degrees and grill for about 12-15 minutes.
